FCC CLAY CANISTERS & FCCB CLAY BAGSIndustrial Cartridges

Clay bags and canisters are especially important in the removal of surfactants from jet fuels. Surfactants or surface acting agents and fuel additives are often injected at various points of fuel distribution. These surfactants and additives must be removed before the fuel flows through the filter/separator or they will disarm the coalescer element. Clay canisters (FCC) and clay bags (FCB) are constructed with the finest Georgia Attapulgus clay and use maximum media surface area to offer outstanding clay media filtration. This construction offers maximum water resistance and absorption capabilities. This combination provides maximum protection for downstream coalescer elements, which are so important in jet fuel and other fuel filtration. Our clay bags and canisters are designed to fit standard industry vessels where 7 x 18 or 7 x 19 cartridges are used. Sturdy bail or strap handles assist maintenance personnel during change-outs. Our construction minimizes shipping damage and media settling during transit. Clay canisters and bags are also specified for surfactant removal from kerosene, gasoline, diesel fuels, and industrial lubricating, hydraulic and insulating oils.SEE PRODUCT

FILTER DEMINERALIZERS FOR NUCLEAR APPLICATIONSNuclear Products

Filter demineralizers are used to remove dissolved radionuclides from condensate water, reactor coolant water and fuel pool water. Filter demineralizers are an alternative to deep bed ion exchange columns in applications where the dissolved ion concentration is low. A filter demineralizer is a filter equipped with special septa over which a specially-formulated powdered resin is pre-coated. As the contaminated water flows through the precoat, both the ion exchange and filtration processes occur in one step.SEE PRODUCT

FILTERS FOR NUCLEAR APPLICATIONSNuclear Products

Filters are used to remove fine suspended particles from fluid streams. Thermon Heating Systems supplies liquid filters for nuclear plant applications such as: reactor coolant, coolant water make-up, condensate treatment, steam generator blow down, spent fuel pool water clean-up, radwaste clean-up, laundry rinse clean-up, pump seal injection and filters for control rod drive mechanisms and other applications. Filters in radioactive environments are designed for remote operation. Covers are equipped with gear box operators. Thermon Heating Systems uses captive bolts that remain on the cover and do not fall when the cover is removed. The cover seal gasket is incorporated into the filter cartridge or filter basket, eliminating the need for a separate cover gasket. Filters from Thermon Heating Systems are designed with advanced filter media that provide optimum filtration efficiency, dirt holding capacity and pressure drop. Filters are qualified for radioactive environments and are available with micron ratings from as low as 0.1 micron up to 100 micron.SEE PRODUCT

FULFLO® HONEYCOMB™ FILTER CARTRIDGEGeneral Cartridges

Multipurpose filtration solutions with wound depth cartridges. Wound cartridges provide true depth filtration utilizing hundreds of tapered filtering passages of controlled size and shape. Each layer of roving contributes to true depth filtration by trapping its share of particles. Wound cartridges offer a gradual pressure increase during cartridge life versus surface-type media that have an abrupt flow cutoff when loaded. In addition, the irregular outer layer reduces surface blinding, assuring both longer cartridge life and full cartridge utilization. Ultrafine cartridges are a unique member of the Honeycomb™ wound depth cartridge family. They are specifically designed for critical filtration applications in the 0.5µm range. When absolute 0.5µm filtration is required, the nominal Ultrafine cartridge can be used as a prefilter, thereby significantly extending membrane life. Ultrafine cartridges remove 90% of particles larger than 0.5µm in size. This type of filtration provides excellent protection for equipment or processes that must be protected from fine particles. Effective removal ratings at nominal 90% efficiency from 0.5µm to 150µm range. Typical applications include oxidizing agents, alkalies, potable liquids, dilute acids and alkalies, mineral acids, organic acids and solvents, petroleum oils, photo solutions, amines, water and prefiltration for membranes.SEE PRODUCT

The GFS Series Gas Filter Separator removes moisture, liquid mists, aerosol and contaminants from hydrocarbon gases, including natural gas, propane, butane and methane, using a three-stage design. The first stage removes gross water by impingement on cartridge stools. The second stage coalesces water using cartridges, with particulate removal down to 0.5 micron. During the third stage, a stainless steel vane mist eliminator removes any remaining moisture. Water collects in the sump to be purged from the system, and clean, dry gas passes through the outlet. The GFS is ideal for use in a wide range of applications, including chemical/petrochemical/natural gas plants, pipelines, refineries, compressor and metering/regulation stations, and power generation plants.SEE PRODUCT

HYDROGEN RECOMBINERS FOR NUCLEAR APPLICATIONSNuclear Products

Hydrogen is released into the nuclear plant containment area under LOCA conditions. In the longer term under normal operation, radiolysis and corrosion can also increase hydrogen levels to the extent that a potentially explosive mixture of hydrogen and air could be present. To mitigate hydrogen concentration, passive catalytic recombiners are installed in the containment. Recombiners use a catalyst made of porous material treated with metals such as platinum and palladium. The catalyst provides sites where hydrogen and oxygen atoms from air come into close vicinity and chemically react to form water, thus reducing hydrogen concentration.SEE PRODUCT
